Risk Factors

-A “risk factor” is anything that increases your risk of developing breast cancer, and they can be both controllable and noncontrollable.
 
-Many of the most important risk factors are beyond your control, such as age, family history, and medical history.
              Other examples include: Gender, Personal History,
                                                     Race, Radiation Therapy to
                                                     the Chest, Breast Cellular
                                                     Changes, Exposure to
                                                     Estrogen, Pregnancy &
                                                     Breastfeeding, & DES
                                                     Exposure.  

-There are some risk factors you can control, such as weight, physical activity, and alcohol consumption.
             Other examples include:  Smoking, Exposure to
                                                     Estrogen, Recent Oral
                                                     Contraceptive Use, &
                                                     Stress & Aniexty.
