  • one of the most obvious signs is a lump in the underarm area
  • a lump that may be cancerous can be painless, hard, and have uneven edges
  • other lumps that may be cancerous can be tender, soft, and rounded
  • swelling on all or part of the breast
  • dimpling or skin irritation
  • pain in the breast
  • nipple pain or nipple is turning inward
  • redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or skin of the breast
  • discharge from the nipple other than milk
